How Rangers should start in midfield and Aberdeen approach debated as Jury come to Viaplay Cup verdict

Craig Swan: The evidence of two seasons ago tells you they can. If they can win in Betis, they can go deep in this tournament again.

Scott Burns: It all depends on the draw. After their win away to Real Betis, they will certainly fancy their chances. Philippe Clement seems to have a way of digging out results.

Fraser Wilson: There’s some big guns among the group winners. The memory of Liverpool just over a year ago would send a shudder down most fans’ necks. But avoif the big hitters and at least the quarter final if no semi is possible.

Craig Swan: It'll come down to who is available. You would imagine John Lundstram, Todd Cantwell and Ryan Jack if all are available, but that's not assured.

Scott Burns: I would probably go for Dujon Sterling. I know he is more of a defender but he did well in Seville and would offer Rangers more of a physical presence.

Fraser Wilson: Dujon Sterling has shown in his second half displays the last two games that he can fill the holding role well and also provide energy to go box to box. If Cantwell is available then Lundstram, Sterling and Cantwell. No Cantwell then it’s Sam Lammers.

Craig Swan:Aberdeen have been successful against Rangers under Barry Robson being compact. It's hard to envisage a deviation from that plan.

Scott Burns: I think we know exactly what Barry Robson will do. He will set his team up, make them hard to beat and hit with pace on the counter. It is a plan that has got Aberdeen some big results this season.

Fraser Wilson: Like they did at Ibrox, like they did in the semi final against Hibs and like they did home and away to Frankfurt and PAOK. Aberdeen look comfortable soaking up pressure and hitting on the break. This is what they’ll do again tomorrow.
