How Manchester United should line up vs Nottingham Forest in Premier League fixture

Manchester United welcome Nottingham Forest to Old Trafford in the Premier League this weekend.

United began their season with a 1-0 victory against Wolves, but they were most recently defeated against Tottenham and it's important Erik ten Hag's side bounce back against a side who just survived relegation last term.

Although chances were created against Tottenham, those opportunities were wasted and the return of Rasmus Hojlund has been touted as the solution, although the striker remains unavailable and sidelined due to a back injury.

Regarding the team news elsewhere, Mason Mount picked up a hamstring injury against Spurs and could be out for up to six weeks. Luke Shaw has also been ruled out of the game after sustaining a muscle injury.

United signed a midfielder who isn't an out-and-out midfielder and now injured, they signed a striker with a modest goalscoring record who is injured, players are dropping like flies and the Mason Greenwood decision was horrendously handled. And then there are the performances.

The left-back situation reflects unfavorably on Erik ten Hag. Tyrell Malacia was his first signing and he has looked Eredivisie standard for much of his time at United, while he has been unfit for upwards of a month. Diogo Dalot at least has experience of playing at left-back.

Christian Eriksen has to come in. He was excellent at Forest in April, United are going to have the ball for the majority of the match and he is more suitable for the context than Mason Mount. Alejandro Garnacho should have been dropped at Tottenham and Marcus Rashford has to return to the left.
