How Manchester United dressing room reacted to draw vs Liverpool FC

Scott McTominay admitted the Manchester United squad weren't entirely satisfied with a point from their clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

After crashing out of the Champions League earlier in the week, the majority of supporters feared the worst against Liverpool, who had beaten United 7-0 and 4-0 on their previous two visits to Anfield.

However, Liverpool struggled to create meaningful chances and United delivered a spirited performance to secure a 0-0 draw.

United also came close to stealing a victory with 20 minutes remaining when Rasmus Hojlund was played through on goal, but the striker fired straight at Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. McTominay admitted the United squad were unhappy not to win the clash with their rivals but did concede a point was a decent result in the circumstances.

"I think to start, we have a number of injuries which doesn't help the squad," he told Sky Sports after the game.

"We knew it was going to be tough today and we had to stay calm and stick together. We had moments when we had chances and we could have hurt them. We're obviously disappointed we couldn't make it more of a game.

"But as I say, the boys will be pleased we didn't lose the game but not happy we didn't win. It's always a hot start when you come here and we know that. We couldn't forget about last year [the 7-0 defeat] with the way that went.

"The boys gave everything today and we've got a lot of young players in the squad who conducted themselves amazingly well and I'm proud to have led them out today.
