Hibs injury latest as duo set to hand Nick Montgomery boost by returning for St Johnstone clash

Hibs are set to receive a double injury boost for Saturday’s trip to face St Johnstone with Lewis Miller and Luke Amos both back in contention.

Nick Montgomery is desperate to get the post split fixtures off to a positive start after missing out on the Premiership top six. And he could have Australia right back Miller to call on for the first time in six weeks since the 23-year-old injured a hamstring in the 2-2 draw at Ross County on March 13.

Chris Cadden has since returned from his own lengthy injury absence to take possession of the right back berth. But Miller’s return beefs up Montgomery’s options as does that of former QPR ace Amos who hasn’t featured since February.

The holding midfielder suffered a muscle injury when he overstretched in the 2-1 win over Dundee at Easter Road and has been sidelined ever since.

The duo are back in training and expected to travel to Perth in Saturday's matchday squad as Hibs look to avenge the damaging defeat at the hands of Craig Levein’s side three weeks ago.

Josh Campbell returned from a fractured ankle in the 1-1 draw at Motherwell last time out that condemned the Hibees to a bottom half of the table finish and Dylan Vente was also back on the bench in Lanarkshire.
