Helen Skelton tells Gemma Atkinson 'the joy' as she shares candid 'unrealistic' post with children

Helen Skelton has joked about the 'joy' of one part of the festive season as she shared a candid 'unrealistic' post alongside her children with her followers. The Countryfile host took to Instagram to share a string of sweet pictures of her three children as they started their festive shenanigans.

Helen, 40, was seen alongside sons, eight-year-old Ernie and six-year-old Louis, and youngest child, daughter Elsie Kate. In the first snap, it appears the former Blue Peter and Strictly Come Dancing star wanted a cute family snap in front of a Christmas tree.

However, while the mum-of-three was ready and smiling for the camera, her children had other ideas with middle child Louis appearing to make a run for it while Ernie got a bit silly for the camera.

Eldest Ernie was donning a suit jacket but wasn't looking at the camera while Louis was looking at the camera but was kneeling down on the floor. Meanwhile, Elise, who was donning a gorgeous little red dress completely had her back to the camera.

Captioning the string of wonderful snaps, Helen typed to her 491,000 followers: "Sparkle season ……the season of unrealistic (photographic) expectations….. ps I had a wonderful childhood only ever saw Santa at playgroup, pretty sure my brother didn’t get new suits for family gatherings and I don’t even think
