Gemma Atkinson says 'bye hun' as Gorka Marquez sparks concern with return home after end of Strictly Come Dancing stint

Gemma Atkinson had two words for her other half when he finally returned home after another stint away for his work on Strictly Come Dancing. Earlier this year, the dancer had to leave his fiancee and their children just after welcoming their second child together.

The couple, who met on the BBC One dance contest in 2017, announced back in January that they were expanding their brood after welcoming their first child, Mia, at the start of July 2019. In July, Gemma, 39, and Gorka, 33, welcomed a son who they named Thiago Thomas Marquez.

But just days after his son's arrival, Gorka had to head to London where he started working on Strictly with new celebrity dance partner Nikita Kanda. Sadly, the pair were the second couple to leave the competition on week three of the competition but it meant that Gorka could spend more time at home.

However, earlier this month, Gemma explained to her fans and followers that they had hit the 'five-month sleep regression', as well as teething, which meant the Hits Radio host and Tio have had a number of restless nights together. Gemma then shared a picture of her feeding her four-month-old son while Mia sat along with them.

While she smiled for the selfie, the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star confessed: "Knackered but we keep moving! Papa's back in 11 days too." And after the Strictly final took place on Saturday night (December 16) with Gorka back in the ballroom for the last time this year, the dad-of-two headed back to Greater Manchester.
