Hatate 'keen' on Leicester, the O'Riley domino effect on Gilmour, rising star set for medical - Celtic transfer state of play

Reo Hatate is keen to leave Celtic for Leicester this summer, according to a report.

Brendan Rodgers already faces potentially losing Matt O'Riley with Brighton moving ahead of Chelsea in the race for the Hoops' star man after submitting a 'formal bid' to the Scottish champions. Now National World claim his midfield team-mate wants a move to England with Leicester City monitoring him. They also state that he has interest from Spain and Italy. The Japan international has never hidden his desire to go on and test himself in Europe's top five leagues down the line and it appears he may well want that sooner than the Hoops faithful would be hoping - considering O'Riley could be off for a massive transfer fee.

On O'Riley, Rodgers said on Sunday: "There is a value we have for him, and if that's not met he will be here - it's as simple as that. He is really happy here, but it has to be something that draws him away. I am not overthinking it. We all know the model here at Celtic - players will improve and they will get to a level that get beyond, not the club, but in terms of the financial salary. But until that comes we continue to work with him."

Another fresh twist in the O'Riley saga could have a say in Billy Gilmour's future. The Scotland international is wanted in Serie A by Napoli and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that if the Seagulls close a deal with Celtic for the former MK Dons man, then the Italian side will be cleared to proceed on a deal to land highly-talented Gilmour.

Meanwhile, Daniel Kelly will reportedly undergo his medical checks at Millwall on Tuesday ahead of a move now. The young midfielder has agreed a pre-contract at the Lions with that move set for January.
