Harry Maguire has 'higher expectations for next club' and other Manchester United transfer rumours
Manchester United defender Harry Maguire is reportedly looking for a bigger club than West Ham this summer should he leave Old Trafford.
MEN Sport understands the Reds rejected a £20m bid from David Moyes' side this weekend. United value Maguire at £50m but an offer of £40m+ could be enough to seal the deal.
However, speaking on Sky Sports News The Athletic's David Ornstein suggested Maguire could be holding loftier ambitions than the East London club. "It’s unlikely West Ham are going to push harder for the time being," he said.

"Their £20m bid was made on the basis that Maguire’s salary is very high for them and they probably can’t go much further in terms of what else they’re trying to do. And so I think for the time being, Maguire intends to stay and fight for his place. Would he want to go to West Ham is a question we don’t know because there are suggestions that he’s got really high expectations if he’s to leave Manchester United, of where he might go afterwards."
The defender's status at Old Trafford slumped last season with Maguire becoming the club's fourth-choice central defender. This month, the 30-year-old was stripped of the United captaincy with Bruno Fernandes appointed.
Elsewhere, according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa, out-of-favour midfielder Donny van de Beek is a target for La Liga's Real Sociedad. It is understood the Basque club are attempting to negotiate a loan with option-to-buy deal for the Dutchman.
Should Sociedad have their way, this would see United receive £8m for the midfielder at the culmination of the loan stint.
