Harry Maguire gives honest verdict about Manchester United this season

Harry Maguire thinks Manchester United's form is slowly turning around after an awful start to the campaign for the club.

Erik ten Hag enjoyed an excellent first season at Old Trafford, but the performances this time around have been unconvincing and the pressure has mounted on the manager following a string of poor results.

Ahead of facing Luton Town, Ten Hag spoke in his press conference about the importance of winning ahead of the international break and United were able to secure a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Victor Lindelof.

The narrow win means United now have 21 points in the Premier League table and they are closing in on the top four places.

Maguire spoke to MUTV after the Luton match and he gave his thoughts on a range of topics, from the performance, how difficult it was against the Hatters and what the team must improve on this season.

"It's about winning. Of course we want to play amazing football, perfect football, entertain crowds and score lots of goals, but some games aren't like that. It was tough out there," Maguire said.

"We did create a lot of chances, very good chances in the first half and we have to be more clinical. They're a physical side, they're well organised and they'll win football matches this season, I'm sure.

"They made it tough for us, but like I said, if we score the first goal [earlier], we can be more ruthless on the counter-attack. They gave us the opportunity to score the second and we maybe should have done that better.
