Harry Kane told he would have suffered Rasmus Hojlund issue if he had moved to Manchester United

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane would have suffered the same woes as Rasmus Hojlund in front of goal because of the lack of chances created by Manchester United, according to former midfielder Robbie Savage.

Kane was linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the summer when it became clear he wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur. Erik ten Hag did hold an interest in the England captain but any hopes of negotiating a deal were blocked by Spurs who were reluctant to sell their star man to a Premier League rival.

The 30-year-old managed to secure a switch to the Bundesliga champions and has impressed in Germany. So far, Kane has 24 goals in 21 appearances for the Bavarians.

In the meantime, United signed Atalanta forward Hojlund and he has enjoyed goalscoring success in the Champions League. However, in 13 Premier League matches he has yet to find the net.

While some suggest Kane would have continued his hot streak at United had he moved to Manchester, Savage believes he would have faced the same issues as Hojlund. The former United academy man told Planet Sport Bet: "When it comes to where Manchester United would be this season if they had signed Harry Kane, I think you have to look at how many chances they actually create for their strikers.

"Everybody was saying that if United signed Kane and Declan Rice then they’d be pushing for the Premier League title, but you have to consider the stats around how many chances they actually create. The strikers for United so far this season have been Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Hojlund, and they’ve only got three league goals between them!
