Guardiola gives Erling Haaland injury update ahead of Man City vs Liverpool
Pep Guardiola hopes to have Erling Haaland included against Liverpool despite the Manchester City striker training with 'niggles'.
Haaland withdrew from the second Norway game of the international break with a small injury issue. His presence in training at the City Football Academy on Thursday was seen as a positive sign. And while Guardiola wasn't ready to completely rule the Norwegian in for the game, he was hopeful that a session on Friday would bring him on.
That could be reflected across the squad. At one point last week it looked as though City could be without eight first team players, but there were just Mateo Kovacic, John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne missing from the session on Thursday

As well as Haaland, Ederson, Nathan Ake and Matheus Nunes were involved in training following injury scares. Guardiola will know by Friday evening how many players he has available but the situation looks better than it did.
Guardiola said: "[Erling] trained yesterday with some niggles but today we have the last training and hopefully he can be part of it. We have a few problems like many clubs.
"We see the training session and will see until tomorrow who is available. At 6pm, I will know for sure which players we have available."
