Greater Manchester weather: Mix of sunshine and heavy rain forecast this weekend

A mix of heavy showers and sunny spells are forecast for Greater Manchester this weekend, according to the Met Office.

The weather will 'feel fresher' in our region over Saturday and Sunday though outbreaks of rain are forecast. Today (Saturday), the Met Office predicts a rainy start to the day in Greater Manchester with showers expected until the early afternoon.

Sunny intervals are then expected into the early evening. Temperatures will reach highs of around 15C in the afternoon.

For today, forecasters said: "Fairly cloudy on Saturday with outbreaks of rain or showers at times, some of these on the heavy side. Windy with coastal gales possible.
