GAA preview: Provincial football finals get underway this weekend

Provincial titles are up for grabs this weekend in the football championship, with Connacht and Munster titles to e decided.

In Connacht, rivals Galway and Mayo battle it out for silverware once again.

Galway will be hoping for revenge as Mayo ended their championship campaign in the preliminary quarter-finals last year. However, Padraig Joyce's side will know they are lucky to be in Sunday's final having been pushed all the way by Sligo.

For Mayo, this will be the chance to claim their first provincial title in three years, and in the process, stop Galway from winning their third in-a-row.

In Munster, Kerry will be aiming to continue to their dominance in Munster when they face Clare in a repeat of last year's final.

While Kerry will go into the game as big favourites, they will be aiming for an impressive performance heading into the All-Ireland group stages.

In hurling, Tipperary face a must-win game when they travel to Waterford in the Munster championship, who defeated Cork in their first game of the group.

In Leinster, Wexford will hoping to bounce back from defeat to Antrim when they face Galway, who claimed a last second draw against Kilkenny.
