Greater Manchester weather forecast as heavy rain batters parts of region

Heavy rain has battered parts of Greater Manchester this morning - with more set to come.

Many of us woke to rain showers on Sunday, with heavy downpours across some parts of the region. According to the Met Office, the rain may hold off now for several hours.

Cloudy and sunny spells are forecast from the late morning. But more torrential downpours are forecast for later on, with heavy showers expected to fall again at around 4pm.

Met Office forecasters predict downpours all evening in our region. They will carry on into the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Highs of around 19C are forecast for Greater Manchester today. Tomorrow looks set to be a mixed bag for the weather - with cloudy, sunny and rainy spells forecast.

Some heavy showers may fall in the afternoon, forecasters predict. Temperatures of around 18C are forecast in the afternoon.
