Grand Slam of Darts in line for Rangers mad Final as Ibrox diehard and Penny Arcade star target showdown

It's been unmissable entertainment and the Grand Slam of Darts could be in line for Rangers-themed feel in Sunday's Final.

The potential to turn the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton into an unofficial Blue Sea of Ibrox gained steam when in-form Australian Damon Heta shocked Michael Van Gerwen to book his place in the last eight. The Australian enjoys a cult following on the PDC tour and his entrance to Roy Orbison's Penny Arcade went down a treat with with Rangers-mad punters taking in the arrows from the Black Country.

The small matter of red-hot Rob Cross lies in wait in the last eight but if he does make the final then it could be against rising star and Ibrox superfan Josh Rock. The Northern Irishman struts out to 'Welcome to the Party' a dance song which has been reimagined by Light Blues fans and the 22-year-old is aiming to go all the way in the Midlands before launching his assault on the world darts championships next month.

Heta – who stormed into the world's top 10 after the win over the Dutchman – admits he was buzzing one of the greatest players of all time had a night to forget against him as he aims to make it count.

He said: I’m absolutely stoked with the win. I had so many trebleless visits, but my checkout percentage was great, and that is what wins you games! Obviously Michael didn’t turn up tonight, but things just happened for me in that second session and I was riding the wave.”
