Graeme Shinnie tells Aberdeen teammates they're at the WRONG club if they can't handle one thing

Aberdeen are still looking for a new manager but Graeme Shinnie knows it is up to him and his teammates to go out and boss it against Ross County.

The Dons are still searching for Neil Warnock’s successor but the skipper is well aware his team’s only focus should be keeping themselves out of a relegation dogfight. There are only three points between Aberdeen and second-bottom County and a win would be a major move towards safety, but defeat would plunge them into a nail biting survival scramble.

Shinnie claimed: “We spoke to him (Alan Burrows, chief executive) on Monday about who would take the team and all that. I don’t need to know what’s going on, I have a game to focus on. That’s what I said to the players on Monday, whatever will happen will happen. It is out of our hands, it is the hierarchy that will deal with that.

“What we have to deal with, as players, is the game on Saturday. It’s important for us to focus on that. That’s been the message all week, to have full focus on this game that we need to win.”

There is a real pressure on everybody at Pittodrie. Shinnie has admitted if his teammates can’t handle it then they are at the wrong club.The 32-year-old stated: “There is always pressure in football, no matter if it is the first game, middle game or end of the season there is always pressure to do well here.

“If you can’t handle that then there is no point being at a club like Aberdeen.Big games come around all the time. We have underperformed majorly in the league this season but we have had big games in Europe and semi-finals and finals.
