Brendan Rodgers keeps Rangers dugout date but does Celtic punishment fit the crime? Saturday Jury

MICHAEL GANNON: It was the best Rodgers could have hoped for within the rules but the rules are daft. Fair enough, managers shouldn’t question the integrity of officials, but their competence? The truth should set you free.

CRAIG SWAN: In one way no because other managers have caned use of VAR the same way and not been banned. But, as a stand alone, one game and one suspended is fair enough.

FRASER WILSON: It does seem a little convenient but there is a precedent - Peter Houston got the exact same for a ref rant in 2015. However Steve Clarke got three games with one suspended for a similar offence while at Killie. In Rodgers’ defence he isn’t a regular offender and was only saying what most of us were thinking.

MICHAEL: Maybe mild concern. Steve Clarke needs to shore up the backline like before but the lack of pace and width is something he’s learned to live with.

CRAIG: Not really. Friendlies don’t count for much. Scotland were flat against Northern Ireland. It was just a bad night.

FRASER: My confidence has taken a major dunt but Steve Clarke isn’t panicking and seems to thrive in finding solutions when the chips are down. Whether that’s going to be enough to make history against
