Good Morning Britain star sparks concern as Susanna Reid asks 'who are you'

On Wednesday's Good Morning Britain, Susanna and her fellow presenter Richard Madeley were greeted by weather forecaster Laura Tobin ahead of her regular segment.

Susanna immediately took notice of Laura's altered voice, cheekily interrogating: "Good Morning Britain, it's just after 6am. I'm afraid my first question this morning has to be 'who are you and what have you done with Laura Tobin?'"

The studio filled with laughter as Laura responded: "So I woke up this morning and I didn't have much of a voice but it'll get higher throughout the morning I promise."

Susanna teased further: "Is this your vocal cord or is this the amount you had last night." Laura clarified: "So I don't drink during the week so I think my vocal cords might be a bit weak."

Noting the contagion in the air, Richard sympathised, saying: "We've all got it, I've had it for two weeks so I sympathise. You'll get better."

To which Susanna quipped: "I don't think anyone has what Laura Tobin's got because that voice is even lower than Alex Beresford."

Laura then decided: "I'll just be very quiet today, so short weather today." Subsequently, amid the show, Susanna and Richard had to pause proceedings to share urgent breaking news with their viewers, reports the Mirror.

The pair confirmed that a new rendition of Band Aid's 'Do They Know It's Christmas? is set to be released, featuring voices from three previous versions of the song: Band Aid (1984), Band Aid 20 (2004) and Band Aid 30 (2014).

Bono, Paul McCartney and Ed Sheeran are among the musicians lending their voices to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the historic chart-topper, which raised over £8million back in 1984.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
