Girl, 3, critically hurt as she fights for life after falling into lake
A girl is fighting for her life after falling into a lake.
The child fell into the water near to Shirebrook Close in St Helens at 2.22pm on Saturday (April 6). It came after a report made minutes earlier that a girl had managed to get out of a nearby house.
Officers performed CPR before paramedics and the air ambulance and arrived and she was then taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital. In an update today, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed the three-year-old remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A spokesperson for the force previously said: "Police officers have rescued a three-year-old child who had fallen in to a lake in Thatto Heath this afternoon (Saturday, April 6). Officers rescued the child from the lake near to Shirebrook Close at about 2.22pm after a report had been made at 2.11pm that a little girl had managed to get out of a house nearby."
