Gary Neville makes Premier League title race feelings clear before Liverpool vs Man City

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has picked who he is backing when Liverpool meet Manchester City this evening.

Neville will be in attendance at Anfield providing analysis as league leaders Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top of the table back to nine points. As for City, they may have won four Premier League titles in a row but they currently find themselves in a difficult run of form.

Pep Guardiola's side are six without a win across all competitions and could be out of the title race altogether with a defeat on Merseyside. With plenty riding on the clash, Neville appeared to hint that he was keeping his fingers crossed for City to win today.

Posting a selfie on Instagram in front of the club's roll of honour, Neville wrote: "Not Nineteen Forever! Hope it is!

"Join us for Liverpool v City on Sky Sports. It should be good."

Neville's support of City may not be exactly what it seems. While Liverpool have won 19 league titles, United currently sit on 20 league titles so seeing Arne Slot's side finish below City, Arsenal or any other Premier League team would be in his interests.

United are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title this year as they continue their transition under Ruben Amorim. They have strengthened their chances of reaching the top four today though after beating Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford.

Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both bagged braces as the Toffees were put to the sword.
