Furious Ally McCoist brands Rangers decisions ‘scandalous' as officials blasted over Celtic disallowed goal

Ally McCoist has branded the decision to chop off Abdallah Sima's goal in the Scottish Cup Final 'scandalous'.

The Ibrox hero vented his fury in an on-air rant on talkSPORT as the match officials at Hampden came in for major stick. The pundit labelled the 'incompetence' of those in charge of the showpiece against Celtic last weekend as 'nothing short of ridiculous' and believes the officiating is bordering on embarrassing. McCoist can accept that Joe Hart may have got a shove but believes the VAR room only need to rewind two seconds more and they've got to award a penalty to Philippe Clement's side.

Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist said: "Jeff, scandalous. Honestly but I have come to expect it. The incompetence of our officials is nothing short of ridiculous. It is bordering on embarrassing to tell you the truth. They disallowed the goal for a shove. Ok, there may be a little shove and I can understand that but they go back two seconds and they've got to give a penalty. The guy has his arms wrapped around the guy who eventually does the little shove. It is just total incompetence Jeff, but we've come to accept it and that is the way it goes."

It proved a major talking point from the fallout of the final at Hampden as Celtic went on to win the famous old trophy with a last minute winner. Adam Idah pounced as Jack Butland pushed out an effort to fire the rebound under the England international to send the green and white end of the national stadium wild. It secured a league and cup double for the Hoops.
