Ally McCoist in hysterics as Rangers hero and Alan Brazil left gobsmacked by Scot backing England to win Euro 2024

Baffled Alan Brazil was locked in a war of words with a Scot who declared he was an England fan going into Euro 2024 – leaving Ally McCoist in stitches.

Scotland kick off the tournament against Germany with hype reaching fever pitch across the nation – as Steve Clarke's men look to pull off the ultimate upset against the hosts and get their Group A campaign off to the perfect start. Former Scotland cap Brazil proudly nailed his Saltire to the mast in the talkSPORT studio as he lapped up the build-up for the Munich blockbuster – but one punter north of the border wasn't buying into the hype.

Brazil faced off against an old foe after previously being left bewildered by an England fan from Lanarkshire. Caller Bob had phoned into the talkSPORT Breakfast Show to stick the boot into the Tartan Army after Scotland’s 3-1 defeat to England last year.

The caller made his return to the airwaves before Scotland’s bow in Germany, and Brazil was left in disbelief. He started: “The weather up here is about as bright as Scotland’s hopes at these Euros. Miserable, it’s wet…”

Brazil declared that he needed his accent changed. He said: ‘You have got to go in and have your voice box sorted out or something."

Undeterred Bob went on: "I am listening to all this hype - you are the only nation that can book your tickets and tell the travel agent you will leave on June 23.” McCoist couldn’t help and burst out laughing at the one liner. Baffled Brazil went on: "Ally, what? He has got a stronger accent than you and I.”

Former Rangers hero McCoist chipped in: “Bob, I want to ask you a question – in all seriousness – we all want the home nations to do well. I mean to be brutally honest me and big Al at least want England to win a couple of games.
