Full list of UK areas covered by Met Office warnings as Storm Herminia to bring 75mph winds

The UK is set to be battered by rain and wind AGAIN just hours after the "strongest storm in a decade". Storm Eowyn brought chaos to the country on Friday with one peak gust provisionally recorded at 100mph in Drumalbin in Lanarkshire.

One person died and homes and businesses were left seriously damaged as a result of the violent winds. Travellers also faced disruption with flights and other transport cancelled.

Now people are being warned about a new storm which is set to hit the UK and Ireland. Storm Herminia, which has been named by the Spanish meteorological office, will hit first in the South West before moving across much of the rest of the country.
The Met Office has put a yellow weather warning in place starting from 8am today. It says "injuries and danger to life" are a possibility with wind gusts expected of up to 80mph.

Rain warnings are currently in place across eight areas. These are East Midlands, East of England, London & South East England, North West England, South West England, Wales, West Midlands and Yorkshire & Humber.

The worst hit is likely to be the South West which was facing warning of strong winds from 6am until 11am on Sunday with forecasts of them reaching gusts of up to 75mph. Further warnings remain in place for the area running from 6am on Monday until 6am on Tuesday.
