Former Wishaw boss opens up on exit with side rock bottom of West of Scotland Second Division

David Dunn insists he had to quit Wishaw after feeling like his squad weren't showing him the same commitment he was giving to the club.

The Beltane Park side are bottom of the West of Scotland Second Division after just one win from seven games and Dunn decided to leave his post on Saturday's following a 6-0 hammering at home to Glasgow Perthshire.

And the frustrated former boss says he had taken the team as far as he could.

He said: "I just feel the club maybe needs a change, a different voice. It needs something because it is not through a lack of trying.

"I worked my backside off and did everything I could to get things sorted.

"If I am being honest, I feel like I'm not getting back what I put in.

"It is hard to take. I've got my own coaching business and then go straight to training, not getting into 10pm.

"I've put a lot of work in behind the scenes but I just felt I was getting that effort back at times.

"It is a very young squad and I'm sure when they get a new manager they can get a bounce from it.

"These young boys are obviously learning, but they are learning through games and the results aren't good enough.

"We lost three goals from our own pass backs to the goalkeeper on Saturday, which just kind of sums things up at the moment.

"When you see the way the team lost, it is a reflection on me.

"The club said they still wanted to back me but I know myself it hasn't been good enough.

"From the start of the season, it was just one thing after the other with injuries, our goalkeeping situation and holidays.

"It is just tiring."

Dunn managed to keep Wishaw in the division last season by the skin of their teeth, but the club enjoyed a promising pre-season and hopes were high for a strong campaign in the Second
