Former Hearts and Kilmarnock defender a big capture for Hamilton Accies boss, as he says 'I hope we're not done yet with signings'

Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin says he has two leaders on the pitch after signing Dylan McGowan on a two-year deal.

The 32-year-old Australian defender was announced on Tuesday, having been out of contract, but won’t come in as captain, as he was last season.

Rankin says that honour will remain with Scott Martin, but McGowan will offer the midfielder a bit of help as they bid to bounce back to the Championship.

And Rankin hopes that’s not the end of his wheeling and dealing this summer.

Rankin said: “Dylan was one we knew from last year, he came in and did pre-season and for whatever reason it didn’t work out.

“I think the two of them are pretty similar but Scotty will remain as he is, but that experience that Dylan brings to the team is vitally important, especially heading into a tough stage of the season.”

On the prospect of more signings, Rankin added: “There are possibilities. I hope we’re not done yet, I said before that I would like to bring in two, and we haven’t finished our work – we have a few simmering away.

“It’s a case of making
