Sheffield United fans excited by Ryan Oné as former Hamilton Accies kid nets on U21 debut

Striker Ryan Oné is picking up where he left off at Hamilton Accies - after doing what he does best on his debut for Sheffield United's under-21s.

The 17-year-old had already scored on his first appearance for Sheffield's under-18s last week and quickly stepped up to the under-21 squad this afternoon, netting the Blades' fifth goal in a 6-0 rout at home to Fleetwood Town after climbing off the bench.

The Coatbridge kid left Accies at the start of the month for a six-figure fee, with the Blades earmarking him as one for the future.

But the Scotland U19 international's quick-fire start and performances belying his teenage years appear to have Blades fans buzzing.

Responding to news of One's goal on X, Sheffield fan @HalTheBlade said: "I'm genuinley excited about Oné. Good luck to the lad with his further development."

One fan also said on X: "He’s the one to wear the number 9 for us in future."

And another added: "All jokes aside, he’s actually the one."

After the win, Sheffield coach Michael Collins said: “Today was a great opportunity for the younger players to learn from the more senior lads dropping in, and then more importantly show they can hold their own alongside them.

"We talked beforehand about the importance of each player getting the most out of the afternoon for themselves. Whether that be vital minutes under their belts for the senior players, or more development for the younger ones.”

Perhaps it won't be long before One catches the eye of first team gaffer - and former Hibs boss - Paul Heckingbottom.
