Former Gillingham midfielder Euan Williams signs for National League South side Dover Athletic

Former Gillingham midfielder Euan Williams has found a new club - and will continue to ply his trade in Kent.

Williams has become Dover Athletic manager Jake Leberl’s second summer addition ahead of a second season back at National League South for the Crabble outfit.

The 23-year-old was one of some 14 senior players to leave ME7 at the start of May as Gills boss Gareth Ainsworth oversees a major overhaul.

Bexley-born Williams came through the academy ranks at Charlton and made his debut in the EFL Trophy in January 2022, having signed his first professional contract at the Valley two years earlier.

Following his release by Charlton in the summer of 2024, Williams earned a move to Gillingham after a trial period and went onto make 10 senior appearances for the club in an injury-hit past two seasons.

Williams has represented England and Northern Ireland at youth level, as well.

Having featured for England under-16s, he switched allegiance to Northern Ireland and earned caps at under-19 and under-21 level.

“All the best Euan,” Gillingham posted on social media as Williams’ Whites move was revealed on Monday evening.

Williams joins ex-Tonbridge defender Nazir Bakrin in linking up with Leberl with Dover while Whites 2025/26 season leading scorer George Nikaj has departed for divisional rivals Dorking Wanderers.
