Midfielder Denzelle Olopade joins National League South Chelmsford City after leaving Dartford

Departed Dartford midfielder Denzelle Olopade has made the step up to National League South football.

Olopade has joined Chelmsford after leaving the Darts at the end of last season.

Olopade said: “I love how the club (Chelmsford) is set up. I know the manager has been watching me, and I just can’t wait to get started.”

Chelmsford head of football John Still – no stranger to Kent football – added: “I am delighted. We had a lot of competition for Denzelle, so he became a priority for us. I think he is an excellent addition to the squad.

“I believe he is only going to keep growing and improving, so hopefully people will see his talent, and he can do very well for us.”

The former Norwich midfielder had spells at Ramsgate and Erith & Belvedere before joining Dartford two years ago. He scored on his Darts debut in a 2-1 win at Cray Valley in August 2024.

The 24-year-old helped the Darts reach the Isthmian Premier play-off final in his first season with the club, playing more than 70 times across two seasons that failed to deliver promotion under then-boss Ady Pennock.
