Former Celtic boss deep dives into style change as Brendan Rodgers 2.0 gets into groove post Ange hybrid

Gordon Strachan insists the Celtic players have taken time to adjust to the style of Brendan Rodgers after the switch from Ange Postecoglou as the former Parkhead boss outlined the key differences in the approach of both bosses.

Strachan believes Celtic are “where I thought they would be at this stage of the season; top of the league and starting to find a groove under Brendan”, with his old club recovering from the painful 6-0 Champions League hammering at the hands of Atletico Madrid as they prepare for a return to domestic action with the visit of another of Strachan’s old clubs, Aberdeen, to Celtic Park on Sunday.

The 66-year-old claimed that everyone will be “happy” with Celtic’s domestic performances and is adamant the football Celtic are playing under Rodgers has started to improve after a period of acclimatisation following the departure of Postecoglou to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. “Like every manager, Brendan wants to put his stamp on the team’s playing style. For the first month and a half, Brendan did that, but it wasn’t functioning as well as he would have liked. They were playing football that was a hybrid of Brendan and Ange, but he (Brendan) has started to put more of his stamp on the team over the last month.
