FC Copenhagen manager responds with bizarre statement to question about Manchester United

F.C. Copenhagen's manager Jacob Neestrup gave a punchy answer when asked about the atmosphere at Old Trafford by suggesting that it simply doesn't compare to the noise that is created at the Parken Stadium.

United take on Copenhagen away from home in Denmark in the Champions League group stage on Wednesday night.

The two sides met just a few weeks ago in Manchester and United earned a crucial 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Harry Maguire and some goalkeeping heroics from Andre Onana, who saved an injury-time penalty.

After defeats against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the Champions League group, United need another three points against Copenhagen on the road, but a raucous atmosphere is awaiting Erik ten Hag's players.

Bayern Munich fell behind against Copenhagen when they played in Denmark and they only won 2-1 thanks to a late goal.

The confidence in the Copenhagen camp is high and their manager Neestrup addressed the media on Tuesday evening. “For me, it's not about hope. For me, it's about strong belief that we can get a result," he told reporters.

“The penalty miss in the fifth minute of extra time was what it was, but it was a totally equal game. I was a little bit surprised about some of the questions I got after the game from English journalists in terms of that we were quite tough to break down.

"The talk we had at half-time in our dressing room was that we thought it was tough to break the opponent down. In that picture, I think the game over 95 minutes was totally equal and I expect the same tomorrow.”
