Faversham Town manager Steve Watt sees his side reach double figures in just three games as they show their attacking class

Manager Steve Watt says Faversham Town have the quality to blow teams away after scoring 10 goals in their first three games of the season.

The Lilywhites reached double figures with a 4-2 Isthmian South East win over Deal Town on Tuesday night.

They also put four past Corinthian Casuals in the FA Cup and drew their opening league game 2-2 at Sevenoaks last weekend.

Watt’s side trailed to an early Rory Smith effort against Deal but four goals in 30 minutes either side of half-time took the game away from the visitors before a late penalty consolation from Ashley Miller.

Kane Haysman and Jack Evans scored two each, including a goal-of-the-season contender apiece, as Faversham showed their attacking quality.

And they still have last season’s top scorer, Tashi-Jay Kwayie (ankle), and winger Kieron Campbell (infected toe) to return from injury.

Watt, who takes his side to Bedfont in the FA Cup preliminary round on Saturday (3pm), said: “We did it in pre-season and we’ll do it again where we have a spell of 20-30 minutes where we can blow a team away. It just shows the quality we have.

“We probably had two goal-of-the-season contenders as well - one for Kane and one for Evo.

“Kane’s smashed one into the top corner from 20-25 yards after good build-up and then the ball gets cut back to Evo after more good play and he whips it into the top corner from 25-30 yards.

“It could have been six or seven at half-time.

“It was a really good half of football, played in the style and tempo we want, and that little spell won us the game.

“We’ve scored 10 goals in three games and only one has been scored by a striker. Am I worried about that? No.
