Faversham Town striker Josh Strouts scored on his debut against Sheppey United as boss Steve Watt hails his attacking options – FA Cup test up next against Welling United

Faversham Town boss Steve Watt admits he may have to relax a bit after watching his side continue to tear teams apart going forward.

The Lilywhites extended their unbeaten start to seven games with Monday’s 3-2 Swale derby victory over Sheppey United in Isthmian League South East.

Faversham have scored 15 goals in four home games this season, with debutant striker Josh Strouts among the scorers against the Ites.

Kane Haysman opened the scoring before Strouts struck, with Ibrahim Olutade adding a third after setting up his fellow striker.

Watt said: “We’re so good going forward. I pride myself on my team being really difficult to beat, which I think we are.

“I might have to relax a bit because we’re so good going the other way.

“It’s exciting, open, we create chance after chance. We’re not going to go all through the season and not put seven or eight past someone because of the chances we create.

“We create that amount of chances in games regularly. We might get caught in a break now and again, but I back my boys, they’re going to out-score teams if we need to.”

Faversham have made goals a priority after believing they did not score enough last season.

Top scorer Tashi-Jay Kwayie, who hit 32 last term, has yet to feature this season and is still a couple of weeks away from a return, while Kieron Campbell is also sidelined.

Yet Watt’s side are still finding the net regularly.

“It's been very good so far,” he said. “One thing we wanted to bring to the team was goals. We didn't have enough goals in the team last year.

“We came in, we sat there and looked at the numbers. We had Tashi, our top goalscorer with 32, but he hasn’t played a game for us yet this season.
