Faversham Town caretaker boss Frannie Collin wants to be a part of club’s new management team; Lilywhites end Isthmian South East season with 2-2 home draw with champions Three Bridges

Frannie Collin wants to be a part of Faversham Town’s new management team.

The injured striker has taken charge of the Lilywhites’ final four Isthmian South East fixtures alongside former Margate and Hythe boss Steve Watt after the sacking of Tommy Warrilow.

Collin and Watt have overseen a positive season run-in, which culminated in a seventh-placed finish.

They ended a run of eight points from those four games with last weekend’s 2-2 draw against champions Three Bridges.

“I’ve had a few conversations with the chairman [Gary Smart],” Collin said.

“They have all been positive. It’s a case of putting a timeline in place.

“I’m sure they will get God knows how many applicants because it’s an attractive job.

“I think we’re looking to sit down and have a good conversation with everyone at some point next week.

“I want to be part of it and I have made that clear to the chairman and the board. They have to make the right decision for the club.

"Hopefully, I can be a part of it.”

Collin has praised the mentality one-time Chelsea defender Watt has helped to instil.

The pair played together with Maidstone United while Collin played under 40-year-old Watt at Margate and Hythe.

Collin said: “The lads have loved working with him.

“His knowledge is second to none. When you take over, you always get a reaction one way or the other.

“It’s then a case of ‘Does it wear off after a game or two?’. I was really pleased with Saturday, especially considering who we were playing against.

“It’s clear Watty’s enthusiasm and drive to get results has rubbed off.

"That mentality is something we need to take into next season.”
