Ex-Livingston star wants a fresh start at Hamilton Accies

Steven Bradley admits moving to Hamilton Accies is a fresh start for him after a nightmare season at Livingston.

The Lions were relegated from the Premiership, but Bradley felt he wasn’t given enough of a chance to show what he can do.

While there are no bad feelings between Bradley and the West Lothian club, the talented winger was keen to get away and kick-start his career, and hopes to do just that at New Douglas Park.

Bradley, 22, is hoping for a first league title win, and can’t wait to get started.

He said: “I’m buzzing. I met the manager, John Rankin, about two months ago, and when I left the chat with him I was excited and really liked his energy and who he was as a person.

“The way he told me that Hamilton trained and played suited my style.

“After that I just wanted to get the ball rolling, eventually got something sorted, and now I’m buzzing.

“It was just the end of a chapter at Livingston, to be honest. I wasn’t enjoying my football at Livingston, so I spoke to Davie Martindale, asked him if I could leave, and we managed to get something sorted.

“I have nothing against Livingston as a club, sometimes things just don’t work out, and I wish them all the best for this season.

“It was just a new chapter for me, coming to Accies.

“Last season was obviously difficult, personally, and as a club. I didn’t get as much game-time as I was hoping last season, and then I had a few injuries and was quite unlucky at times.

“Then when I was in the team I was getting taken off early and stuff like that, so it wasn’t a great season, personally.

“That’s why I wanted to get a fresh start as well, so I could try to kick on again, and see what happens from here.”

Pre-season has been important for Bradley, who feels like he’s ready
