Ex-Hull City boss Steve Bruce linked with move which would frustrate Tigers fans

West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a summer move for Chelsea goalkeeper Nathan Baxter, who has spent the season on loan at Hull City. The 23-year-old stopper has impressed at the MKM Stadium, despite being limited to just 15 appearances following his temporary move from Stamford Bridge.

City want to sign Baxter on a permanent deal, with boss Shota Arveladze expressing his desire to see the Blues stopper remain at the club next season, but it's expected the Tigers will face stern competition for the highly-rated ace from a host of other suitors, with Steve Bruce said to be on his list of admirers.

Securing the services of a goalkeeper is a key priority this summer for City, with Baxter's loan coming to an end and Matt Ingram's contract expiring, though the club do have the option to extend that by a further 12 months. Albion are understood to be on the lookout for goalkeeping options during the summer, with Sam Johnstone expected to move on from The Hawthorns after Albion failed to challenge for a place in the top six, and Teamtalk claim Baxter is one of their targets.

After missing 14 games through a combination of a thumb injury and the form of Matt Ingram, Baxter returned to City's starting line-up for the first time since January 29 on Easter Monday, impressing in between the posts as the Tigers went down to a 2-1 defeat at play-off hunting Millwall and is expected to retain his place for the visit of Reading on Saturday.
