Everton: Fabrizio Romano drops major transfer update at Goodison Park

Everton could still make up to three signings before the window closes, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Toffees have already welcomed six new players on board since the market opened for business, but the transfer guru reckons that Frank Lampard could be a busy man up to tomorrow’s 11pm deadline.

It’s been a frustrating summer for Lampard, who has seen Richarlison leave for Tottenham, Dominic Calvert-Lewin suffer an injury and Antony Gordon be at the centre of a transfer saga with Chelsea.

As a result, there’s been an unsurprising lack of goals during the early weeks of the campaign, with the trio responsible for almost 45 per cent of the Premier League goals Everton scored last season.

Therefore, his team find themselves at the wrong end of the table after collecting just three points from their first five Premier League games, although they have avoided defeat in their last three.

With Neal Maupay Everton’s only striker addition, Lampard is believed to still be in the market for another frontman, while he’s also on the lookout for reinforcements in midfield, with James Garner one player being strongly linked, and also at the back.

Romano reckons that Everton could still recruit up to three new players before Thursday night but reckons the calibre of those potential incomings could hinge on whether Gordon ends up signing for Chelsea.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “It all depends on Gordon, because if they sell Gordon it will be different, they will need to make super important signings. If not, they will go for some smart names, but I see them being very busy, maybe making two or three signings before the deadline.”
