Man Utd: £50m star now set for shock stay at Old Trafford

Manchester United aren’t prepared to let Aaron Wan-Bissaka leave before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline unless they’ve got a replacement lined up, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The right-back has been strongly linked away from Old Trafford for much of the summer window, but Romano reckons that his future is hanging in the balance.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are ‘open’ to Wan-Bissaka returning to Selhurst Park, having slipped down the pecking order at United in 2022.

He’s played four minutes in United’s opening four Premier League games and has made just seven top-flight starts since December, with Diogo Dalot establishing himself as the club’s first choice.

The report claims that Palace have ‘discussed the possibility’ of bringing Wan-Bissaka back to the club, just three years after he made the £50m switch to Old Trafford.

But with Dalot United’s only other right-back, Romano doesn’t think Erik ten Hag will leave himself short in such a key position, meaning Wan-Bissaka’s future hinges on someone coming in.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The feeling I have is they don’t want to risk allowing Wan-Bissaka to leave and they don’t have any replacements ready.”

With Ten Hag clearly not convinced by Wan-Bissaka, he’s looking for more quality in the right-back area and could therefore replace him.

According to ESPN, Barcelona’s Sergino Dest is ‘open’ to a switch to Old Trafford, but any move to the Premier League is seen as complicated.

The USA international hasn’t been involved this season and has already been told to find a new club by manager Xavi.
