Everton: £50m star would be ‘massive signing’ at Goodison Park

Everton bringing in Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk would be a ‘massive signing’ for them, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The talented 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months and is not likely to be short of potential suitors once the transfer window re-opens for business.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed back in August that Everton had a €30 million (£26.2m) verbal proposal turned down by Shakhtar for Mudryk.

And the creative talent admitted that he ‘dreams’ about playing in the Premier League in an honest interview with CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

“Yes,” Mudryk replied when asked if he harbours aspirations of playing in English football’s top-flight at some stage of his career. “I think every guy dreams about the Premier League.”

O’Rourke believes that bringing Mudryk to Goodison Park would be a ‘real signal of intent’ due to the level of competition for his signature and an indication that manager Frank Lampard is going to be backed.

“So, if Everton were able to blow their rivals out of the water with a big-money bid, I think that’ll be a massive signing for them and a real signal of intent that the club are going to back
