Man Utd: £73m star should 'get used to the bench' at Old Trafford

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho may have to get used to the bench, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 22-year-old started the season strongly under new manager Erik ten Hag, but his form has dipped and he has since lost his place in the team.

United legend Rio Ferdinand recently spoke about Sancho, stating that he was concerned about what he has seen from the English youngster following his £73m move (via BBC Sport) from Borussia Dortmund last year.

Discussing Sancho on his YouTube channel FIVE, he said: “I haven’t seen [his Bundesliga form] yet. That’s the concerning thing for me.

"If I'm Jadon Sancho, or in Jadon Sancho's camp, I am looking at ways in which I can unpick his game, his mind, to unearth the Sancho that made him a coveted talent around Europe."

Sancho showed glimpses of his Dortmund form earlier in the season after he netted against Liverpool and Leicester City. However, he has not scored in the Premier League since the win versus the Foxes and was benched for United's last outing in the English top flight.

He may not like it, but O'Rourke thinks Sancho may have to accept being on the bench.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: "There will definitely be concerns for Jadon Sancho. It could be a while before he gets his place back in the team, especially if United do go on a winning run as well.

"He might have to get used to being sat on that bench right now, so it'll be up to him in training and when he does get minutes on the pitch to try and impress Ten Hag and show him that he deserves his place back."
