Erling Haaland sends four-word message to Man City teammates before Arsenal showdown

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is relishing the prospect of going head-to-head with Premier League title rivals Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

With just one point separating the top-three as Liverpool watch on, City are due to welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium for a mouth-watering showdown. It comes a few hours after Jurgen Klopp's side take on Brighton in an Easter Sunday double header.

No matter the results in those games, though, the fight for silverware is expected to go down to the wire this season. However, as the treble-winners prepare to do battle with Arsenal, managed by their former assistant coach Mikel Arteta, they can send out a real statement to the teams they are competing with.

Norwegian talisman Haaland, 23, is naturally up for the match and will be a key player for City. Active on Instagram in the build-up, the forward uploaded three pictures from training on to his story. He also made a post on his main profile, adding a short caption featuring a strong arms emoji.

It read: "Bring on the weekend!" The comments section was inundated with replies from City and Arsenal fans who are fully aware of how significant the meeting could be in this season's title race.

Despite missing a chunk of matches in December and January owing to a troublesome foot injury, Haaland has still managed to score 29 goals in 34 appearances so far this season. He's also in pole position to pick up the top-flight's Golden Boot with 18 goals from 23 outings.
