Kobbie Mainoo sends four-word message after Manchester United heroics vs Liverpool

Kobbie Mainoo has admitted that Manchester United's 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool was "good but not enough."

The 18-year-old played well again for Erik ten Hag's side with his stunning second-half goal putting United 2-1 up before Mohamed Salah equalised from the penalty spot. United's teenage star is enjoying a breakthrough campaign having only made his full Premier League debut back in November.

Mainoo's form for the Red Devils was rewarded in March after being called upon to Gareth Southgate's senior England squad. The midfielder played in friendlies against Brazil and Belgium during the international break, with many calling on him to be included in the Three Lions' squad for this summer's European Championship's in Germany.

And Mainoo has offered a measured response to Sunday's game. United earned a hard-fought point against Jurgen Klopp's side but the midfielder acknowledged that it was not enough.

"Good but not enough," he said on Instagram, alongside a picture of him celebrating his goal against Liverpool. "See you next week Reds," he added.

After the final whistle, Mainoo spoke to Sky Sports and said: "I feel like the second half we performed really well, we picked it up and the lads worked really hard.

"It was just minor mistakes, not anything major and I think we need to iron them out. Of course it's an unbelievable feeling, my first professional goal at Old Trafford and to do it in this fixture is also amazing.

"But at the end of the day, we didn't walk away with the three points, so I can't be too happy. It felt good
