Erik ten Hag might have unusual fix for Manchester United dressing room problems

It will take more than Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo simply bashing some PlayStation buttons to solve the problems within the Manchester United dressing room right now. But incoming boss Erik ten Hag might have offered up a blueprint to get his Old Trafford superstars reading from the same page.

"The players are really excited for me [joining United] and that's beautiful," said Ten Hag this week. "I have worked at Ajax for a long time and created great relationships. The atmosphere in your squad is key — and that's why I did something different with the squad. We went gaming, all together. Gaming, real gaming, the E-Sport way!"

Ten Hag clearly got a good response from his Ajax squad when breaking the news of his United appointment. He will assume responsibility at Old Trafford this summer after first chasing down a third Eredivisie title in four years with his vibrant and all-action Amsterdam group.

But rather than exclusively fine-tuning preparations on the training ground, Ten Hag and his players set about finding a digital pre-match platform.
