Manchester United duo planning exits as Erik ten Hag's dream squad outlined for next season

It’s no secret that United could have a glut of players departing during the summer. The likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani look set to join Nemanja Matic out of the exit door, with the Serb having already confirmed his impending departure, and more could follow them.

There are plenty of question marks surrounding some of the players who are still under contract for next season, and it seems two of those have already made their intentions clear. The Manchester Evening News understands Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have already told teammates they plan on leaving the club during the summer.

With United likely to target a new centre-back during the summer, the pair would likely fall further down the pecking order at Old Trafford. With Bailly going public recently on his resentment of the privileges afforded to Harry Maguire, it seems he and Jones have already made their minds up on their futures.

While there are set to be a number of players leaving the club at the end of the season, we could also see a number of new signings making their way to Old Trafford. Ralf Rangnick has suggested United could need as many as 10 new signings, and while that number is unlikely to be reached, it nevertheless looks set to be a busy summer for Erik ten Hag.

The incoming Ajax boss certainly has his work cut out for him as he picks up the pieces of a desperate season for United. The 52-year-old though is not short of potential names, with a few obvious areas to target.
