Erik ten Hag has told Facundo Pellistri the benefits of Manchester United loan exit amid Sheffield United talks

Facundo Pellistri looks set to leave Manchester United on loan this summer and the young winger need only look as far as Amad Diallo to see the benefits of a move.

United are in talks with Sheffield United over a potential deal which would see Pellistri spend the campaign at Bramall Lane. It's a move that would benefit all parties, with Paul Heckingbottom's side in desperate need of attacking threat for their first season back in the top-flight.

The Manchester Evening News understands that United are happy with Pellistri's development and see the 21-year-old as a star of the future, but they also acknowledge the importance of regular football at such a young age. He has only started one of his 12 senior appearances.

Amad was in a similar position around this time last summer, with little chance of breaking into the first-team. He dropped into the Championship to join Sunderland and enjoyed an excellent year, registering 14 goals and three assists across 39 appearances.

United kept a close eye on the Ivorian during his time at the Stadium of Light, maintaining regular contact and monitoring how he developed. Erik ten Hag was at the centre of it all throughout.
