Erik ten Hag has three late Casemiro replacements vs Liverpool amid Man United injury scare
Manchester United are expected to be without Casemiro for the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool at Old Trafford this afternoon. The experienced midfielder was forced to withdraw from the Brazil squad for the upcoming international fixtures with national team manager Dorival Junior revealing the injury blow in his press conference.
"We have just received a report from Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar," he said. "From a pre-list made by the Brazilian National Team's technical committee with 50 names, 13 of them were already away due to injury at their clubs.
"Unfortunately, we also lost Casemiro. Therefore, Pepe, from Porto, a native striker who now plays as a midfielder, is called up." After enduring a challenging start to the season, Casemiro has impressed in recent weeks, alongside Kobbie Mainoo, with United's form improving drastically.

With Casemiro now a doubt for the cup tie against Liverpool, Ten Hag will be mulling over a number of options to replace the former Real Madrid man. Scott McTominay is the most natural replacement especially as he seems to be favoured by Ten Hag with a number of impressive cameo appearances from the bench coming this season.
Christian Eriksen is another option however the Denmark international, following on from playing a key role in the previous campaign, has found his minutes limited amid the emergence of Mainoo.
