Erik ten Hag press conference live Manchester United updates and team news for Brentford fixture

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will take questions from journalists on Friday afternoon.

United are set to make the trip to London to take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday and the Reds head into the match after winning against Liverpool.

There has been a feel-good factor during the international break due to that special win against rivals Liverpool and United must build on that result against Premier League strugglers Brentford.

Brentford are fighting to maintain their league status this season and they lost against Burnley when last in action. They are currently just five points above the relegation zone.

Ten Hag will preview the game in his press conference and give an update on team news.

United manager Erik ten Hag is "proud" of Kobbie Mainoo's development after he was named man of the match on his full England debut.

Mainoo attained his first England cap against Brazil exactly four months on from his first Premier League start and he lined up in the 2-2 draw with Belgium three days later.

The 18-year-old is now widely expected to be named in Gareth Southgate's squad for the European Championship and Mainoo has started 15 of United's past 16 matches.

Ten Hag is no stranger to keeping players in check but clarified Mainoo has not crossed any lines during his time at United as he is so focused on improving.

"I thought it was very good but we are not surprised," Ten Hag said of Mainoo's impact on international duty. "We know what he is capable of, he can very quickly adapt to high levels. It looks very natural and we are very happy for him."
