Erik ten Hag has been told how to deploy Manchester United prospect and where he excels

Shola Shoretire is part of Erik ten Hag's squad for Manchester United's pre-season and has already made an impressive early impact.

United headed out to the Norwegian capital Oslo to begin their busy schedule of matches building up to the club's opening Premier League fixture at Old Trafford against Wolves on Monday, August 14. That beginning came against rivals Leeds United earlier this week.

The Reds got their pre-season campaign up and running in satisfactory fashion with a 2-0 victory. Ten Hag played two different teams in each half of the encounter, including handing summer signing Mason Mount his debut following his transfer from Chelsea.

Shoretire was part of the team which took to the pitch after the break, when the deadlock still remained. That changed in the second half as goals from Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill proved the difference, with Shoretire picking up an assist for the latter's goal.

The 19-year-old Shoretire is highly rated at United and Ten Hag clearly wants to get a good look at how the teenager is doing in pre-season prior to the new campaign getting going. Shoretire operated on the left flank in the win over Leeds.

Shoretire spent the second half of last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers in League One, getting experience of first-team men's football under his belt. It was his first loan spell away from Old Trafford.
