Erik ten Hag has been handed perfect chance to sign new Rasmus Hojlund fall-back option for Manchester United
Manchester United seem laser-focused on Rasmus Hojlund with the club confident they can recruit the 20-year-old within the next two weeks.
The Reds have told Atalanta they will not fork out more than £60m for the 20-year-old, and the Italian club best not play too stubborn. They landed Hojlund for just £13m last summer and could make a 450 per cent profit in 12 months.
Hojlund is a risk, no doubt about it. The youngster scored just nine Serie A goals last season, fewer than the unfavoured Marko Arnuatovic of Bologna, who United were once mildly interested in.
The biggest difference between those two players is age, some 14 years in fact. Hojlund also scored five goals in two games for Denmark in March in a sign that there is a lot of potential to unlock.

Erik ten Hag had listed a number of fall-back options to top target Harry Kane, who United assume will stay at Tottenham this summer. Goncalo Ramos, Mohammed Kudus and Randal Kolo Muani were named alongside Serie A golden boot winner Victor Osimhen.
It could be argued that Hojlund was the weakest of the lot, but there is a reason why he has become the most likely to join.
Ramos’ reported £100m price tag is far too expensive, much like Osimhen, while Kolo Muani could be set to join Paris Saint-Germain. And while a good player, Kudus is not the much-needed natural centre-forward despite his appearances top for Ajax last season.
