Erik Ten Hag hails Manchester United quartet and Christian Eriksen backs Rasmus Hojlund

Ten Hag hails United quartet

Erik ten Hag praised four members of his squad following Saturday's disappointing 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

"He (Hannibal Mejbri) did what we brought him (on) for, having an impact and bringing energy. He did it. I think there were more individuals, like Diogo Dalot, [who] played very well, and Marcus Rashford had moments. Rasmus Hojlund was a threat all the time.

"We had some good players on the pitch. We were unlucky, unfortunate. We didn't get what we were looking for and that was the result."

Eriksen backs Hojlund

Christian Eriksen has backed Hojlund to help solve United's wastefulness in front of goal this season.

"We lost the momentum and I thought we had it back just before half-time with the disallowed goal. But we didn't have the luck or the clinical part to get back and it's difficult.

"It was unlucky for Rasmus, his debut here, it was disallowed, but I'm sure he'll turn it around and score a lot more goals. We tried to come back and with how they play, there was a lot of running from our side.

“In the end, I still think we had enough chances to come back and we just didn't take them. It's been like that this season so far, I think if we changed that, the games would be a lot easier to play."
