Woman arrested after man falls from balcony and is rushed to hospital

A woman was arrested by police after a man fell from a balcony in Bolton in the early hours of Friday (September 15).

Emergency services responded to reports of a man having fallen from a balcony on Marsden Road, close to the town centre, at around 3.10am.

Police and paramedics attended the scene where the man, aged in his 30s, was rushed to hospital for treatment after sustaining life-changing injuries in the fall.

An investigation was launched by Greater Manchester Police before a woman in her 20s was arrested on suspicion of Section 20 assault. She has been bailed pending further enquiries, which remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 3.10am on Friday 15 September 2023, officers were called to reports that a man had fallen from a balcony on Marsden Road, Bolton.

"A man in his 30s was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries that are described as life-changing. A female in her 20s was arrested for a Section 20 assault and has been bailed pending further investigations. Enquiries are ongoing."
